How and why we need your help

Volunteering is more than delivering a task with no payment. It is about giving the special gift of your time and skills.

Volunteers at Kerswella can offer the practical help that can make all the difference to those who find themselves socially isolated – whether it’s transporting to the doctor or hospital, having a chat at home,  collecting repeat prescription or simply offering moral and social support.

Often family members might live too far away to visit regularly and support their elderly relatives in this way. If you feel that working alone with someone is not for you, we will welcome offers of help with our groups activities – baking, serving, washing up, gathering draw prizes – the list is endless!

Raising Funds for Kerswella

Funding

Kerswella Care need people with good community connections to help us with local fundraising events – organising fundraising events and contacting local businesses for support with draw prizes and similar.  This is an ideal opportunity for someone at home –  making the necessary connections by phone, email, social media etc.

Give us a call to have a chat if you feel you might be able to help

Driving for Kerswella Care

Driving

Kerswella Care always need people who would like to help with transporting people to hospital, GP  and other wellbeing appointments.   This can be using your own car (we pay mileage expenses)  OR you can use our resident van which has wheelchair access – training would be given on its use.

The amount of time you commit would be completely up to you so give us a call so we can have a chat.

Befriending volunteer

Befriending

Befriending provides companionship for isolated people, the chance to develop a new non-judgemental relationship and encourage someone. Kerswella Care have service users who would benefit from the support of a befriender because there may have been a time of change in their life and are vulnerable, becoming socially isolated.

We welcome whatever time you feel you can give and would love to hear from you.

Our Strength is our Volunteers

Without our dedicated and enthusiastic team of volunteers, we could do nothing – each person offers something special to our cause, however small it may be.   If you would like to be part of our team, let us know.

How To Volunteer
