Memory Cafe
The Pavilion
The Playing Fields, Manor Drive, Kingskerswell
The FOURTH Thursday of every month 2pm to 3.30pm.
Our first main project was to start a Memory Café n Kingskerswell as we felt this was an unmet need in the village. With the kind help and advice from the team from the successful Memory Café in Ipplepen, a grant from Devon County Council and a bunch of eager volunteers, we were able to open the doors to the first Kingskerswell Memory Café in November 2018. The Café has gone from strength to strength until the forced closure in March 2020 at the start of the COVID crisis.
We opened our doors again in August 2021 to a smaller group of people with help from KingsCare’s Dementia workers – places will need to be pre-booked.
We aim to provide a comfortable, social gathering that allow people experiencing some form of memory loss and a carer/family member to connect, socialize, and build new support networks with a variety of activities and conversations all based around reminiscence. We also aim to provide music and singing as these are proven to provide well-being benefits for those with memory problems.
Refreshments are provided.
Please book your place with us. We cannot, at the moment, accept walk-in guests.
