We were set up and supported by KingsCare League of Friends with an Awards for All grant from the National Lottery in October 2017 – this was to pilot the project in the area and our first year proved a great success thanks to the community embracing the initiative and the generous help offered by volunteers from the community.
We continued to be supported by KingsCare League of Friends through a grant from the “Building Connections Fund”, a partnership between The National Lottery and HM Government and have continued to grow and enhance our services with the help of this grant. .
We have also been fortunate enough to receive grants and donations from other statutory bodies, local businesses and other community groups

Previously trustee and committee member of Kingskerswell Summermoon Festival. Phil was co-opted as a trustee of Kerswella Care for medical input and he is proud of what’s been put together. We are making a difference.[/dt_sc_team][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][dt_sc_team name=”Rick Williams” role=”Trustee- Secretary” facebook=”https://www.facebook.com/KerswellaCare” class=”simple-rounded aligncenter”]Rick retired in March 2020 after 27 years as Chief Executive of Cornerstone housing association in Exeter and is currently the non-exec Chair of TorVista Homes, Torbay Council’s own housing company. He moved to Kingskerswell in 2016 and became involved with Kerswella Care as his wife, Karen, is a volunteer and he helped out during the pandemic. He brings a wealth of experience in the governance and regulation of not-for-profit organisations and understands the strategic role and responsibilities of trustees.[/dt_sc_team][dt_sc_team name=”Kingsley Matthews” role=”Chair of Trustees” facebook=”https://www.facebook.com/KerswellaCare” class=”simple-rounded aligncenter”]Kingsley joined as a volunteer in 2018 having retired as a school business manager in 2017.[/dt_sc_team][dt_sc_team name=”Alyson Blake” role=”Trustee” facebook=”https://www.facebook.com/KerswellaCare” class=”simple-rounded aligncenter”]Alyson came to the village in 2014 and on retirement as an Occupational Therapist from the NHS was looking for a way to get involved in the village and meet other local residents. She started as a volunteer in 2021 and agreed to become a Trustee in 2022. As a volunteer she drives, helps with coffee mornings and lunches and the Pavillion café and in 2023 has been involved with the Coronation Raffle.[/dt_sc_team][dt_sc_team name=”Maggie Bonnell” role=”Trustee” facebook=”https://www.facebook.com/KerswellaCare” class=”simple-rounded aligncenter”]Maggie has managed KingsCare in Kingsteignton since 2003 and KingsCare were instrumental in the birth and continuation of the Kerswella Care Project. Maggie believed there was a need in our community for patient support services and sought funding for the Kerswella pilot project in 2017. Six years on, Kerswella still work closely with KingsCare and were thrilled that Maggie has come on board as a trustee.
